Friday Funny 6: Loving Husbands

>> Friday, October 17, 2008

Pharmie has been commenting how great I’ve been lately. I don’t really know what that means, but I guess I’m doing something right in the “husband” role. Here are some husbands that could maybe use a little lesson from me:

My favorite is the guy in the tent with his mountain bike. If the bike gets wet, it will rust! If his wife gets wet, she’ll just be wet. I see his reasoning.

Just yesterday, I came across this great set of Fairy Tales on Sarah’s Triathlon Adventure (she had just received them in an e-mail). They fit with the theme of today’s post PERFECTLY! So here are the “Worlds Two Shortest Fairy Tales:”

A FAIRY TALE (for women):

Once upon a time, a guy (a Prince) asked a girl (a Princess), "Will you marry me?"

The girl said "No," and she lived happily ever after and went shopping, drank martinis with friends, always had a clean house, never had to cook, had a closet full of shoes and handbags, stayed skinny, and was never farted on.

The End.

A FAIRY TALE (for men):

One day, long, long ago... there lived a woman who did not whine, nag or bitch.

But this was a long time ago... and it was just that one day.

The End.

Don’t be mad at me if you don’t like the stories. Blame Sarah. Just kidding. I don’t know what to think about the part regarding being “farted on.” I’m pretty sure I’ve been farted on more times than I’ve farted on someone else. Happy weekend!

That last one looks like an out-take from Borat.

It's all relative. I may, as a man, behave piggishly, but I don't use my wife as a beast of burden*.

Therefore, I am a good husband.

I fail to see the flaws in that logic.

* That's why we have The Boy.

I love something that can give you a little smile. :)

Funny pics, hmm, yes we are pigs sometimes.. Yeah I can admit that.

Some very hot women in those photos, especially the one in the black bikini, pulling the plow. Lucky husbands.

;-)

K 6:39 AM, October 17, 2008

Perfect timing--I had a conversation with hubby about this yesterday--how he loves the bike more than me. ;)
HILARIOUS!

teacherwoman 6:49 AM, October 17, 2008

Hey I totally agree with the reasoning of the bike in the tent. I would do the same thing! LOL

Brian 7:09 AM, October 17, 2008

waaay too funny. I think I laughed too hard. My ribs are hurting.

CoachLiz 7:26 AM, October 17, 2008

Hey the gal pulling the plow is probably figuring she could get a good start on her tan, lol.

Either that or she is scaring the crows away from the crop...

joyRuN 8:13 AM, October 17, 2008

As usual - HILARIOUS!

And yes - sometimes I do dream about the fairy tale for women :)

Marcy 8:17 AM, October 17, 2008

OMFG HAHAHHAHAAAAA! That would be the day . . .

ShirleyPerly 8:28 AM, October 17, 2008

HA! But it looks like some of those women could really use the added exercise.

The mountain bike pic is my favorite too -- I have it up at work and underneath it it says: PRIORITIZE, At least you can fix the bike. HAHAHA! My co-worker gave it to me when I was training for IM because I always spoke so fondly of my bike. Happy Friday!

Teacher Pursuits 9:03 AM, October 17, 2008

HAHA!! I like the ones with the chicks carrying the heavy stuff - that is totally me... but its not because I have a thoughtless hub, its usually because I think I am super strong!

Unknown 9:07 AM, October 17, 2008

I love this!

Definitely made my day. And those pictures, man, that is just too crazy!

Jodi 9:16 AM, October 17, 2008

I wish someone would've gotten a picture of me at 8 months pregnant raking the lawn while my husband just stood there. That definitely would've made this post.

Judi 11:37 AM, October 17, 2008

I like the one of the guy in the tent w/ his bike too. Cracked me up. Have a good weekend Steve! Think good thought for me Sunday when I do my 50k trail run!

Laura 11:49 AM, October 17, 2008

Those pictures = AMAZING! Thanks for the laugh, even though it gave away the fact that I'm looking at blogs on my computer instead of paying attention to the training course I'm in :)

Fizzgig 12:31 PM, October 17, 2008

Kelly 1:13 PM, October 17, 2008

My brother used to fart on me. I still have nightmares...

RooBabs 1:28 PM, October 17, 2008

Those pics are great! I love the lady towing the boat.

And those fairy tales are pretty funny, too. I would also add "never had anyone steal the covers".

That was splendid.. The one on the boat is something else.

Charlotte 3:12 PM, October 17, 2008

My fave is the man cuddling his bike. I know a lot of men like that, actually. Wait, why is this funny again??

Missy 4:17 PM, October 17, 2008

Quality stuff...I think I know some of these guys, hell, I know the one in the tent...that was a cold, wet nite:)

Anonymous,  4:18 PM, October 17, 2008

really, where do you find these things? hysterical - especially the one of the woman in the field in her bathing suit? undergarments?

The Lazy Triathlete 5:02 PM, October 17, 2008

I hate farts!!! They are not funny. But then I am not the farter in my family-i am just the smelly one.

Thanks for the laughs. What impresses me the most, is that the girl is still with the guy with mtn bike. Its nice to see a woman who "gets it" :)

So, when we camp, the our bikes both spoon in the tent while the humans sleep outside in the drizzle. :)
