Semi-Wordless Wednesday: Getting Old in “Run Minnesota”

Our “Spring 2018” issue of “Run Minnesota” (the magazine published by the Minnesota Distance Running Association) just came:



Among the race results in the back were the times from O’Gara’s 8K last month:



Those are the “open” results, and then there's the 20-34 "open" age group. But now that I’m older, I’ve been getting more press, because I’m in the 35-39 age group:



Just barely squeaked in there... :)

The 35-39 age group is by far the easiest. It's weird to see population distribution at races (some websites do that!) and there's a gap in that range - like that group just abandoned the sport. I blame triathlons.

I blame triathlons for most things, including the squirrel in my crawlspace.

SteveQ, as a triathlete, I like to blame triathletes too. But this might be more of a "the age of parents trying to figure their shit out" before getting back to "normal" training.
